Job summary

Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company, seeks a Field Training Manager to lead onboarding and advanced product messaging for sales teams. This role collaborates with Directors, Senior National Training Managers, and Sales Management to drive field-based training, co-travels, and a comprehensive national training plan.

The FTM will enhance representatives' ability to communicate complex scientific information and business development practices while coordinating training across Area geographies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and knowledge of the health care/pharmaceutical industry.
• 3+ years of field sales experience in the device industry; surgical experience strongly preferred.
• 2+ years of sales training experience preferred, but not required.
• 2+ years of project management experience preferred; health care experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Onboarding: assist with new-hire onboarding for the assigned Area and develop training plans for BDMs, SAMs, and PDMs.
• Sales Training: attend courses annually to stay current and coach during field co-travels.
• Field Co-Travels: complete quarterly co-travels, coordinate with Area/Regional leaders, and provide written follow-up.
• Support onboarding and development needs; facilitate Field Sales Training initiatives and national training planning.
• Identify learning gaps and schedule follow-up discussions with managers.

Job Description

The Field Training Manager (FTM) trains Business Development Managers (BDMs), Strategic Account Managers (SAMs), and Practice Development Managers (PDMs) to support qualitative dollar sales, profitability, and market share for Allergan Aesthetics. In coordination with the Director of Field Training Management, Senior National Training Managers, Marketing, and Sales Management, the FTM delivers advanced product messaging and business-development training, monitors skill progression from entry-level to senior sales roles, and supports the Aesthetics Portfolio.

The FTM enhances sales representatives’ ability to communicate advanced scientific information, business-development practices, and portfolio messaging through field co-travels, training courses, manager meetings, and National Sales Meetings. The role executes sales directives and training programs across assigned Area geographies; supports new-hire onboarding and development needs; facilitates Field Sales Training (FST) initiatives; and contributes to the national training plan as part of the marketing planning process.

Key Responsibilities

Onboarding

• Assist with the new-hire onboarding experience within the assigned Area.
• Coordinate the training process and development for newly hired Business Development Managers, Strategic Account Managers, and Practice Development Managers. Monitor and enhance BDM progress throughout the training continuum, providing appropriate coaching and development feedback.
• Facilitate pre- and post-training onboarding sales calls throughout the new-hire sales training continuum.

Sales Training

• Attend at least one of each new-hire sales training course annually to remain current on course delivery and support effective execution and coaching during field co-travels.

Field Co-Travels

• Complete the expected number of co-travels per quarter, prioritizing new hires.
• Conduct field co-travels with new hires within the appropriate timeframe after completion of the New Hire Sales Training Continuum.
• Collaborate with Area Sales Leaders, Regional Sales Leaders, and Regional Practice Managers to identify tenured field sales representatives for field co-travels within the Area.
• Identify and address key learning gaps; provide written follow-up after each co-travel and schedule a follow-up call with the manager.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree
• Knowledge of the health care and/or pharmaceutical industry
• 3+ years of field sales experience in the device industry; surgical experience strongly preferred.
• 2+ years of sales training experience preferred, but not required.
• 2+ of project management experience preferred, with health care experience preferred but not required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Teams and PowerPoint.
