Job summary

The Traffic Group Limited seeks a Traffic Technician to operate and manage traffic counting equipment across the state. The role involves fieldwork, data collection, and data download tasks, with a focus on accuracy and safety.

We offer an entry-level pathway, weekly travel, and a $1,000 signing bonus after six months of employment. Expect 90% weekday hours with some weekends and overtime.

Qualifications

• This is an entry-level, full-time position with hours varying.
• Must read maps, navigate to sites and collect GPS coordinates accurately.
• Good verbal and written communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Earth.
• Prior safety training is preferred (Basic Work Zone Safety Training).
• Overnight travel across the state and weekend work if required.

Responsibilities

• Programs and places traffic counting machines and tubes onto roadway as instructed.
• Collects traffic counting machines at conclusion of counts.
• Downloads data from traffic counters to computer and prepares printouts.
• Conducts turning movement counts when requested.
• Helps to maintain traffic counting equipment.
