Job summary

Intertek USA in Edgewood, New York is seeking an Entry Level Field Testing Technician to join our Building Enclosure Testing team. You will assist with field testing and building inspections on new construction and retrofit projects, with on-the-job training provided.

The role requires travel most weeks (Mon–Fri) and a shared company vehicle for work travel. Base wage ranges from $22 to $42 per hour, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k) match, PTO and tuition

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 6+ months experience using hand and power tools (drills, saws, tape measures, etc.).
• Comfortable working with elevated platforms.
• Ability to learn the building envelope and testing standards.
• Willingness to travel 75% of the time or more.
• Valid driver's license and reliable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Field testing projects and building envelope testing as assigned.
• Forensic investigations of building envelope failures.
• Communicate with clients and project team regarding site observations, test preparation, procedures, results, and reporting matters; prepare and submit concise reports.
• Provide project coordination including planning, scheduling, execution and reporting.
• Maintain professional interaction with clients and project team.
