Intertek Group is seeking a Field Construction Material Testing Technician in Edgewood, NY. The role involves performing on-site testing, observations, and data reporting under supervision, contributing to quality assurance in the A/E/C industry.

The position offers training with no prior experience required, and requires reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license to travel to jobsites. Strong math and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent.
• No Experience Required – Will Train.
• Must have Basic Math, Calculator and Computer Skills.
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal & written communication.
• Ability to read and understand work plans.
• Ability and willingness to work off shifts and overtime.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record (required).
• Must have reliable transportation to travel to and from jobsites.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under direct supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.
• Operates testing equipment and conducts testing (e.g., soil, concrete or other) and provides assessment of data through reporting.
• Works utilizing drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
• Uses specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks.
• Makes detailed observations and gives limited interpretation of results.
• Maintains detailed documentation and data from test results.
• Operates a calculator to calculate mathematical test results.
• Communicates effectively with client and project teams.
• Must be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure safety of self and others.
