Job Summary

Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute is searching for a Field Test Engineer to join their team. The role involves designing experiments, conducting complex data analysis, managing drone flight operations, and coordinating large research projects under general supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Attend team operational meetings as requested.
  • Collect, verify, and manage data.
  • Perform data analysis to produce reports.
  • Document and process results.
  • Develop quantitative models.
  • Complete assigned tasks within a specified time allotment.
  • Contribute to overall project planning and act as lead to coordinate portions of large projects or studies.
  • Ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Maintain administrative records.
  • Track and adhere to established budgets.
  • Manage a system of drone aircraft ensuring safe flight activities and operational documentation for all flight tests.
  • Program software in support of job functions.
  • Design experiments and research protocols.
  • Write and edit recommendations and reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
