Job summary

Pacer Group seeks a Construction Specialist to support OSP telecom construction in the Jackson, MS region. This field-based role performs quality audits on coaxial (HFC) and fiber optic networks, with 80% field work and 20% remote administrative tasks.

The position requires traveling across the territory, independently handling audits, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards. Competitive hourly pay is offered for a contract engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience in outside plant (OSP), broadband, cable, or telecom construction.
• Ability to read and interpret telecom construction/design prints.
• Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory, including overnight travel when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality audits on completed telecom construction projects across assigned territories.
• Inspect outside plant infrastructure including nodes, power supplies, fiber, taps, enclosures, and other network components.
• Verify completed construction meets engineering and quality standards.
• Identify construction deficiencies and communicate corrective actions to partners and contractors.
• Review completed rework and verify repairs have been completed on time.
• Complete audit documentation and close out assignments.
• Utilize Microsoft Office, Teams, Smartsheet, and P2 for reporting and tracking.
