Job summary

Vortex Companies, LLC is seeking a reliable individual to operate and maintain Jet/Vac equipment as part of their sewer maintenance team in Maine. Candidates should have the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting materials and working in various weather conditions.

A high school diploma is preferred, alongside 3-5 years of experience operating a Class A or B vehicle. This role will require effective collaboration with team members to ensure successful sewer system inspection and rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass pre-employment drug test, D.O.T. physical, and maintain clean driving record.
• Preferred 3-5 years of experience operating heavy vehicles.
• Capable of following directions and adapting to on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Jet/Vac equipment.
• Assist in sewer maintenance and repairs.
• Load materials and equipment for job site transportation.
• Collaborate effectively with crew members.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Properly operate and maintain Jet/Vac equipment (will train)
• Perform all work tasks required to support execution of sewer maintenance, inspection and/or rehabilitation pipeline tasks
• Work effectively with supervisors and all members of the crew to ensure successful inspections, cleaning, repairs, and rehabilitation of sanitary and storm sewer collection systems
• Load materials and equipment into vehicles for transportation to and from the job site
• Able to work in the elements — extreme cold and heat for long duration
• Can lift, push/pull, carry 50 lbs

Qualifications

• Ability to enter and work in confined spaces
• Ability to operate a variety of simple and complex tools
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test, D.O.T. physical and driver’s license check for past 36 months without any suspensions or major traffic violations (D.O.T. requirements)

Education & Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Preferred 3-5 years of experience operating a Class A or B Vehicle
• Capable of following instructions and on-the-job training
• Ability to work overtime and out of town/state
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift over 50 lbs
