Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a field coordination professional to support utility pole inspection and system hardening in the California regions. You will file permits, coordinate homeowners, and direct crews across rural and remote areas during a 3-month project.

Experience with ArcGIS Survey123 and Field Maps is required, along with strong customer service and field communication skills. You will travel extensively and ensure quality and safety in all field activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support utility pole inspection and system hardening activities in the field.
  • File and coordinate construction permits as required for project work.
  • Contact homeowners and property owners to coordinate access and construction activities.
  • Coordinate and schedule construction crews to complete pole hardening work.
  • Provide crews with the information and direction needed to complete assigned work.
  • Perform field audits and inspections of completed work to verify quality and compliance with project requirements.
  • Document field activities, project progress, and completed work using Survey123 and ArcGIS Field Maps.
  • Travel throughout assigned project areas, including rural and remote locations.
  • Communicate with homeowners, construction crews, utility representatives, and project management.
  • Identify field issues and coordinate solutions to keep work progressing safely and efficiently.
  • Coordinate construction crews performing system hardening work within an 11-foot radius of utility poles, including placement and pouring of road material and treatment of the surrounding area.
  • Work independently across the North Valley, Sierra, and Central Valley regions during the projected 3-month project.

Job description

Requirements

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Comfortable communicating with homeowners and property owners in the field
  • Ability to coordinate and direct construction crews
  • Familiarity with construction equipment and construction activities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple field assignments
  • Ability to safely drive in rural and remote areas and navigate varying road conditions
  • Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
  • Ability to work outdoors and travel throughout assigned project regions
  • Previous experience working on utility, vegetation management, construction, or utility infrastructure projects preferred
  • Experience working around utility poles or within electric utility rights-of-way preferred
  • Familiarity with utility permitting and construction processes preferred
  • Previous field inspection or quality-control experience preferred
  • Experience coordinating contractors or construction crews preferred
  • Must receive a negative pre-employment Controlled Substances test as a condition of employment
