Job summary

Davey Resource Group, Inc. is seeking an entry-level UAM Field Technician 1 to plan, design, verify locations, inspect, and capture data related to utility infrastructure in Altoona, PA. This on-site role offers growth as you learn technical skills under supervision.

The position requires field work with a company vehicle, GPS and field tech tools, and frequent travel (75–100%). Safety and data accuracy are essential as you support utility clients in asset management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency in basic office applications and data entry; willingness to learn mapping software.
• Reads and comprehends instructions and communicates clearly.
• Able to perform basic arithmetic computations.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license with clean MVR; must pass Davey Driver’s Safety Course.

Responsibilities

• Operate as a lone worker when required, independently.
• Collaborate with a second technician for scheduling and locations.
• Meet weekly production targets for client timelines.
• Perform field audits of utility infrastructure by inspecting and recording data.
• Use GPS, hand-held devices, cameras and other field tech.
• Accurately record field observations and data integrity.
• Communicate access needs to property owners and agencies.
• Travel with company vehicle (75%-100%) and navigate varied terrains.
• Read maps and navigate using GPS, maps, or compass.
• Identify safety risks and hazards per standards and client specs.
• Follow safety regulations and meet requirements.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment; report issues promptly.
• Participate in training events as assigned.
• Travel on-site for duties; other related tasks.
