Job summary

ONE Gas, Inc. is seeking a Field Technician Sr for P&M and Instrumentation in Tulsa, OK. You will assist with installing, testing, and maintaining regulators, meters, and instrumentation at field sites.

The role requires 2–4 years of relevant experience, basic computer skills, and knowledge of gas transmission and distribution systems. CDL or valid driver’s license preferred; safety training and regulatory familiarity are important.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of relevant field experience (minimum 1 year required).
  • Proficient in basic use of computers (MS Office as needed).
  • Knowledge of gas transmission and distribution systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with installing, testing, repairing, and maintaining regulator settings and relief valves as well as large meter sets or pressure monitoring sites.
  • Install, test, calibrate, and maintain gas measurement and regulation devices (e.g., chromatographs, SCADA gear, flow computers).
  • Drive and maintain company vehicle; perform compliance reporting as required.

Job Description

Assists with equipment, system, line and valve installations; calibrates and maintain equipment related to pressure, measurement, and basic instrumentation.

Responsibilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with installing, testing, repairing, and maintaining regulator settings and relief valves, as well as installing and configuring large industrial meter sets or pressure monitoring sites.
  • Assist with installing, testing, calibrating, and/or maintaining gas measurement, regulation, and recording devices and equipment including but not limited to:
    • Chromatographs/ Sampling systems
    • Electronic odorization systems
    • Flow computers
    • Satellite equipment
    • Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system and remote terminal units and equipment
    • Pigging lines
    • Locating lines
    • Blowing drips
    • Changing charts
    • Filling odorant pots
    • Regulating gas flow and/or pressure
    • Monitoring dew points
    • Collecting gas samples
  • Conduct field tests and/or proving meters and modifications to regulators and reliefs.
  • Drive and maintain company vehicle.
  • Prepare and review applicable compliance reporting
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
  • Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education Requirements

Experience

  • This role typically calls for two to four years of relevant experience; (Minimum of one-year relevant experience is required).
  • Proficient in basic use of computers, including Microsoft Suite as needed.
  • Working knowledge of regulation equipment installation and maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of use, function, and maintenance of tools applicable to position.
  • Working knowledge in application of basic arithmetic:
    • addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division (tested).
  • Working knowledge and training relative to:
    • Company and governmental operating/safety procedures
    • Changing charts
    • Basic customer service activities
    • Characteristics of natural gas
  • Knowledge of transmission and/or distribution pipeline systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret internal and external mapping applications
  • work logs, job orders, consumption rates, charts, and operational and repair manuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.

Licenses and Certifications

Applicable driver's license

CDL preferred

Additional Requirements

  • Lift or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds 10-15 times a day; up to 20 pounds 5-10 times a day; up to 30 pounds 5-10 times a day; over 50 pounds 3-5 times a day.
  • Travel over uneven terrain including but not limited to:
    • Mud
    • Gravel
    • Sand
    • Rocks
    • Ice
    • Snow
  • Climb fences; walk, stand, kneel/stoop, and drive for extended periods.
  • React immediately to emergency situations to prevent injury to self and others.
  • Smell odorant in natural gas.
  • Detect and react to warning signals at work sites.
  • Able to operate tools and equipment required.
  • Communicate and/or exchange information or instructions including use of company two way radio.
  • Visual abilities sufficient to perform job duties.
