Job summary

American Engineering Testing Inc (AET) in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, is seeking a Field Technician to perform field and laboratory testing of soils and concrete in accordance with ASTM/ACI standards. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and adherence to QA/QC procedures while supporting client projects across the region.

The candidate should have a high school diploma (or equivalent); a 2-year vocational degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-year vocational or college degree is preferred.
• Communication skills sufficient to work effectively with clients and coworkers.
• Ability to interact successfully with a wide variety of people, work effectively within project teams, resolve issues and problems in a constructive manner, and work independently in the field.
• Capable of the physical labor required including work at hazardous waste sites, with personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing of soils, concrete, bituminous, or masonry products – may consume 80% of workday.
• Perform field density and Proctor density test of soils.
• Observe excavations and correlate observations with soil boring logs.
• Maintain safety and QA procedures in field and lab settings.
• Frequent travel within the regional area and occasional out-of-town travel.
