Allonnia is seeking a remote Field Technician to join our U.S. operations in the Virginia area. The role involves traveling to client sites to commission, repair, and maintain Allonnia’s SAFF units, containerized water treatment systems designed to address PFAS.

This hands-on position requires strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to travel extensively across the US. Qualified candidates have at least 5 years of technician experience, an associate degree or equivalent hands-on work, and

Responsibilities

  • Commission, repair, and maintain field equipment at client sites.
  • Provide preventive maintenance on remote mobile SAFF units.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot field issues and replace parts as needed.
  • Coordinate with contractors and supervise field activities as required.
  • Prepare reports detailing on-site work and hours for accountability.

Job description

Allonnia is seeking a remote Field Technician in the Virginia area to join our U.S. operations. The Field Technician will travel to client sites to commission, repair, and maintain Allonnia’s multiple solutions, including the mobile SAFF® units (containerized water treatment plants targeting PFAS). If you are a hands-on professional with strong mechanical aptitude and a desire to travel for work, this could be the right job for you!

Minimum Qualifications (must have):
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in hands-on technician roles
  • Associate’s degree in engineering technology or trade certification a plus; relevant hands-on experience acceptable as a substitute
  • Previous experience with the commissioning, repair, and maintenance of electromechanical equipment in the field
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID)
  • Eligible to work in the USA without sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Current OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification or willingness to obtain one
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills
  • Based in the US.
  • Ability and willingness to travel primarily around the US. Travel will be up to 75% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications (nice to have):
  • Experience with industrial plumbing systems or working in a water treatment plant a plus
  • Class C commercial license for HAZMAT is a plus
  • Forklift certification and / or experience preferred
Measurable Accountabilities
  • Commission units on delivery to client sites
  • Perform comprehensive maintenance on units being used in the field
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot any issues that arise with units, repairing and replacing parts as needed
  • Request plant recall and replacement if field repairs prove impossible
  • Perform testing and monitoring of all active systems to ensure proper performance
  • Decant and dispose of hazardous waste in compliance with all safety procedures and local regulations
  • Perform site inspections
  • Use forklift to load and unload units’ spare and replacement parts
  • Supervise the work of contractors and sub-contractors engaged by the company
  • Prepare and submit reports on all onsite activities, expenses, work hours, etc.
  • Assist with technical planning for all commissioning, repair, and maintenance projects
