Job summary

EarthOptics is hiring a Field Technician to join our Field Operations team. You will travel nationwide (primarily in Texas and surrounding states) to collect soil data, support field research, and operate soil-sensing equipment.

This role emphasizes physical work, safe data collection, and collaboration with farmers and partners. Compensation includes base hourly pay, overtime, and incentive pay, with potential earnings up to six figures for strong performers.

Qualifications

• Physical work outdoors in various climates
• Ability to travel nationwide up to 75%
• Data collection and field sampling proficiency
• Operates sensor equipment and field tools
• Comfort with transporting and handling equipment

Responsibilities

• Support row crop, rangeland, timber, and related field research and data-collection activities.
• Travel nationwide to assigned field locations and collect accurate field data.
• Coordinate with farmers, ranchers, landowners, and stakeholders for property access and field activities.
• Conduct physical soil sampling according to sampling requirements.
• Safely use hand-operated and automated sensor equipment.
• Document field data, activities, and sample information.
• Maintain and transport field equipment.
• Operate and transport vehicles and trailers as needed.
• Prepare and ship samples to laboratories.
• Report progress and issues to Operations Manager and teams.
• Train and onboard others on procedures and safety.
