Job Summary:

This position is responsible for repairing construction machines, component assemblies, and parts in the shop and field. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, warranty reporting, maintaining company assets, and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities:
  1. Repair equipment and components, including:
    1. Developing a repair plan and sequence
    2. Determining necessary parts, materials, tooling, etc.
    3. Performing repairs properly and safely, with quality assurance testing of the repaired component, system, or machine
  2. Maintain and complete all reports legibly and promptly for parts ordering, tooling usage, daily service reports, and work order closures
  3. Communicate repair progress with your supervisor as needed
  4. Retrieve and return parts and materials through the company’s parts ordering system
  5. Manage special tools and equipment, including proper care and use of major shop equipment such as air compressors, cleaning tanks, overhead and jib cranes
  6. Use company vehicles, service trucks, and fuel cards responsibly
  7. Keep work areas and service vehicles clean and safe
  8. Maintain tools and tool carriers in a safe, organized, and updated manner
  9. Follow all company policies and safety guidelines
  10. Perform additional tasks as assigned by your manager
Education, Experience, Skills:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. An Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology or four years of apprenticeship experience is preferred. Technician classification depends on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for handling and feeling. Also required are reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, lifting, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment:

Exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather, extreme cold and heat, and vibration. Noise levels are moderate to loud.
