Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Field Technician to join our Sarasota team. This on-site role involves field observations, sampling, and routine testing under supervision while developing foundational technical skills in geotechnical and materials testing.

You will work with contractors, technicians, and project managers, assist with daily reports, and support data entry and equipment management. Certification training and OSHA/industry certifications are encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Obtain basic certifications applicable to the work performed as per the ECS Technician Certification Policy.
• Good communication skills (verbal, written, and reading comprehension).
• Ability to lift equipment and materials regularly (up to ~85 lbs).
• Ability to read maps, follow directions, and interpret plans (developing).

Responsibilities

• Performs field observation, testing, and sampling of soil, aggregates, and concrete under supervision.
• Assists with construction materials testing activities on project sites.
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Reports changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors.
• Assists with preparation and submission of daily field reports.
• Supports basic calculations and data entry related to testing results.
• Assists in organizing and maintaining field equipment.
• Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment.
• Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested.
• Performs other field and project support duties as assigned.
