Job summary

Pape’ Material Handling, Inc. is seeking a Field Technician in Fremont, CA to diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on customer-site material handling equipment.

You will travel within the region, handling a variety of systems from electric forklifts to diesel engines, and you’ll ensure high-quality service and uptime. You must have 5+ years of field experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience diagnosing and repairing equipment, preferably in material handling.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Self-motivation and ability to work under little supervision.
• Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
• Driver’s license with a good driving record; CDL preferred.
• Must provide own tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair equipment at customer locations, ensuring maximum uptime.
• Travel within assigned region to perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Work on all makes/models of material handling equipment, including electric forklift systems, LPG/diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, etc.
• Communicate clearly with customers and coordinate with Parts Department to identify and return parts.
• Occasional shop repairs when needed.
