Job summary

AMH is seeking a Field Technician Maintenance in Knoxville, TN to perform repairs, troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance at AMH properties. You will keep HVAC systems operational, handle carpentry and roofing tasks, and manage mobile work orders, while engaging with vendors and tenants.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (associate degree or technical training preferred), 2+ years in residential maintenance, a valid driver's license, and OSHA knowledge.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; Associate degree or technical training is a plus.
• Minimum two years of Residential/Property Maintenance experience, or five years in lieu of education.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools.
• Experience with Apple iPad and HVAC preferred.
• EPA/Certification Type II required in applicable states.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• OSHA safety knowledge is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication, time management, and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Ability to multitask, work in a team, and adapt to a changing environment.
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs to various heights; operate a vehicle and climb ladders.

Responsibilities

• Provide troubleshooting support for water heater, plumbing, garage door, irrigation, and electrical issues.
• Perform various home repairs, including carpentry, drywall, roofing, and fencing tasks.
• Ensure HVAC systems are operational and perform system tune-ups.
