Job summary

Ciena is seeking an experienced telecom installation leader to join our North America field team. You will lead equipment installations and commissioning in Central Office and Service Provider environments, coordinating field crews to execute projects safely and in accordance with procedures.

The role requires 3+ years of telecom installation experience, strong knowledge of fiber, copper, DC power systems, and the ability to read MOPs and schematics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years telecom installation experience in Central Office or Service Provider environments.
• Expertise in fiber, copper, coax, DC power systems and related testing.
• Ability to read MOPs, wiring schematics and equipment layouts.
• Proven leadership directing installation teams and QA inspections.
• Knowledge of Telcordia GR-1275, AT&T TP-76300 and telecom safety standards.
• Willingness to travel nationwide and work nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead telecom equipment installations and commissioning activities in Central Office and Service Provider environments.
• Coordinate field crews and subcontractors to deliver projects safely and efficiently.
• Execute circuit modifications, software upgrades, power transitions, and live network activities with precision.
• Perform QA inspections, technical verifications, and final project walkthroughs.
• Interpret and resolve issues within job specifications, wiring schematics, and MOPs.
• Maintain installation records, as-built documentation, audits, and project reporting.
• Build strong customer relationships through professional on-site communication and technical leadership.
