Job description

This position is responsible for the overall installation, general programming and testing of multiple residential and commercial security systems, including but not limited to fire alarm systems, intrusion alarms, access control systems, CCTV, data networks, and other low voltage electronics. The position offers an hourly wage based on a 40‑hour work week. Overtime, evening, and weekend work may be required based on demand.

Scope of Work

• Travels to local shop or directly to jobsites daily
• Communicates with onsite technicians to plan and complete tasks
• Works on assigned projects with the Field Tech Supervisors, Sales Representatives, and Installation Manager
• Ensures all work assignments are successfully implemented and maintained to company standards, including technical expertise, equipment installation, customer service, customer orientation, and training
• Encourages team members to ask questions and offers suggestions to improve the department and overall company performance
• Follows all company policies and procedures
• Completes off‑job trainings and certifications to stay current with vendor requirements and industry standards
• Independently completes service work to company standards
• Demonstrates competency and understanding of the installation, programming, and operation of all technology and systems installed
• Understands advanced network IP configurations
• Reads and comprehends blueprints, drawings, and scopes of work required to properly install all equipment and services
• Performs commercial fire alarm inspections with the authority having jurisdiction
• Makes low‑voltage electrical connections, tests, and verifies proper operation of electronic equipment
• Prior to the installation date, evaluates information furnished for the job, obtains correct material and equipment needed to successfully complete the job
• Follows all OSHA standards

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the low‑voltage security industry
• Experience with customer service and working with technicians and office team personnel
• Understands how the security industry works
• Ability to make sound judgment with decisions that benefit the customer and company
• Troubleshoots electronic devices, prioritizes installation team responsibilities, leads Field Tech I technicians on‑site, and communicates effectively
• Overnight travel may be required on an as‑needed basis
• Maintains a positive attitude while taking pride in your work
• Must be able to work in various environmental conditions
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces and on ladders and lifts at various heights
• Must possess a valid PA driver’s license
• Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test
