Job summary

Gregory Poole Equipment Company in Roanoke, VA seeks an experienced field service technician to independently perform major repairs on material handling equipment at customer sites.

You will troubleshoot engines, transmissions, hydraulics and other systems using repair manuals and diagrams, conduct preventive maintenance, load parts, operate service trucks, and ensure safety checks and accurate service records.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school education or GED.
• Six years of experience with at least two years on Hyster, Yale, Clark or other similar equipment; advanced in at least four mechanical systems (transmissions, engines, hydraulics, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Review work schedule and prepare tools and parts.
• Troubleshoot engines, fuel systems, transmissions and other components using manuals and diagrams.
• Load service truck with parts/equipment and use hoists to move heavy parts.
• Disassemble/reassemble parts with hand and power tools; test and recalibrate equipment.
• Perform safety checks, document work orders, and ensure customer satisfaction.
