Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) in Tampa, FL, is seeking a field technician to support geospatial and construction-phase projects. You will identify utilities and control points on plans and in the field, and operate surveying equipment to record data accurately.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, be willing to travel, and work outdoors in all weather. Prior surveying experience is preferred, and military service is a plus. We offer training and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to travel for extended periods.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varied weather.
• Ability to walk long distances on uneven terrain with surveying equipment (<30 lbs).
• Load and unload equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. for short distances.
• Survey experience is preferred.
• Military experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify utilities, structures, and control points on plans and in the field.
• Maintain and operate assigned surveying tools and equipment.
• Assist in implementing approved traffic control plans.
• Record data accurately in the field using survey instruments.
• Operate vacuum truck and related tools and equipment.
• Drive commercial motor vehicles as required.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
