Job summary

RRC Surveying in Pflugerville, TX is seeking a Field Technician (Utility Locator) to support private utility locating across our Austin/Round Rock operations. The role focuses on accurate locating, safety, and collaboration with multiple disciplines to enable energy projects.

You will work under the Field Service Manager, train new PUL Technicians, and develop cross-training in GPS surveying and GIS drone surveying.

Qualifications

• Training and apprenticeship coaching for new PUL Technicians.
• High level of customer service and acumen.
• Strong communication with client representatives.
• Excellent time management and teamwork.
• Ability to travel long distances across TX, LA, OK, NM, KS and CA.
• Overnight stays required monthly based on demand.

Responsibilities

• Reports to Field Service Manager.
• Provide Private Utility Locating (PUL) to all disciplines.
• Level II PUL experience with GPR and EM Wand.
• Develop cross-training in GPS Surveying and GIS Drone Surveying.
• Support growth in the US Energy Market; conduct field visits.
• Collaborate with Business Development Director, VP of Surveying.
• Create conduits between client projects and RRC.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reports to Field Service Manager
• Primary focus will be providing Private Utility Locating (PUL) to all RRC Disciplines.
• Level II, requires multiple years of utilizing Ground Penetrating Radar and EM Wand locating.
• Develops future skills cross training in GPS Surveying, GIS Drone Surveying and Operation.
• Maintain and grow the with the US Energy Market. Conduct Field Job Trailer visits creating new opportunities.
• Works with Business Development Director, VP of Surveying in strategic growth among the regional markets.
• Create conduits of conversations between the active client projects and RRC.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

• Ability to train and provide an apprenticeship style coaching when we onboard new PUL Technicians.
• Provide a high-level of customer service and acumen.
• Communication with client representatives meeting their level of attention and expertise.
• Prioritize time management and communication as it relates to the success of the team and directed by FSM.
• Operate, protect, and maintain the equipment in a safe work environment.
• Expresses the core values of above and beyond, quality work, client satisfaction, and employee happiness
• Ability to travel long distances throughout Texas, LA, OK, NM, KS and California or any markets that we serve.
• Able to stay overnight consecutively each month based upon the demand and growth of the PUL market.
