Harnish Group Inc. seeks a Field Technician - Heavy Equipment (Maintenance) to travel to customer sites, diagnose, repair and maintain CAT equipment using company truck. The role emphasizes diagnosis of engines, powertrains, electrical and hydraulic systems with CAT tooling and rigging support.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in heavy equipment mechanics, holds a valid driver’s license, and can travel for extended periods. Strong MS Office skills and customer communication are required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years heavy equipment mechanic/technician experience (education may substitute for up to 2 years)
• Valid driver’s license; forklift driving and operation of equipment may be required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment, including removal, repair, assembly and installation
• Diagnose and troubleshoot engines, powertrains, electrical and hydraulic systems
• Use CAT diagnostic equipment, CAT repair tooling, rigging and blocking equipment
• Plan and organize multiple projects with focus on controlling job costs
• Investigate and identify problems to make recommendations
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal software systems
