About the Role

The API 653 Field Technician Foreman, under the supervision of the Gulf Coast Operations Supervisor, leads and facilitates the safe and efficient delivery of API 510/570/653 related services, including robotic inspections of above ground storage tanks and pressure vessels.

Responsibilities

1. Maintain a safe work environment and ensure safety procedures are followed.
2. Perform inspections in accordance with API 653 and related standards.
3. Document all inspection activities per company and customer guidelines.
4. Recommend repairs and inspect completed repair work.
5. Manage communications with customers and the office.
6. Direct the field crew to complete projects efficiently.
7. Make quick decisions on-site to ensure project success.
8. Complete required training within company guidelines.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of field inspection experience.
• API-653 Certification is required.
• Ability to maintain good relationships with co-workers, management, vendors, and customers.
• Willingness to travel approximately 75%, including overnight and air travel.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to pass background and drug tests, including ongoing random testing.
• Valid driver’s license, ability to obtain passport and TWIC card.
• Comfortable working at heights and in tight spaces.
• Knowledge or certification in MT, VT, MFL, PT, and other NDE methods as required.

Working Conditions

• Occasional exposure to shop environments, lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Work from kneeling or all-fours positions.
• Work in confined spaces and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must have adequate vision and be able to distinguish colors.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders frequently.
• Availability by phone during nonstandard hours.
• Pass a Pulmonary Fit Test if required.
• Heavy travel schedule, approximately 75%.

Work Flexibility

Flexible working options include Monday-Friday workweek, 50-60 hours/week, with some weekends required.
