Empire Petroleum Services in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Field Technician to troubleshoot, install, and repair equipment based on customer demand while delivering complete customer satisfaction in a professional and courteous manner. The role requires reading schematics, performing scheduled maintenance, and documenting service activities.

You will open and close work orders, maintain tools and van inventory, and uphold safety and quality standards at all times.

Formación

• Minimum high school diploma or GED and/or 1–3 years of mechanical and electrical experience in a similar environment, or equivalent education.
• Excellent people skills and verbal communication required.
• Knowledge of reading schematics and manuals.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze problems with customer equipment and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide professional customer service and maintain goodwill with clients.
• Inspect, analyze, and determine corrective actions for service and repair needs.
• Perform repairs to correct issues in a professional and efficient manner.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance on equipment for contracted customers per company policies.
• Open and close work orders with Dispatch and document repair narratives.
• Maintain van inventory and keep tools organized and safe.
• Keep the service van clean and hazard‑free inside and out.
• Perform factory‑authorized modifications per specifications.

Primary Objective: Syracuse, NY AreaTheField Technicianis responsible for troubleshooting, completing installations, and performing unscheduled repairs and scheduled maintenance on equipment based upon customer demand and need; and providing complete customer satisfaction politely and professionally. Key Responsibilities:

• Effectively analyzes problem situations about breakdowns of customer equipment and recommends to the customer actions necessary to correct the situation.
• Exhibits a professional demeanor and promotes goodwill between the company and customers by providing a superior level of customer service.
• Observes, analyzes, and determines corrective course of action for service and repair of customer equipment.
• Performs necessary repairs to correct analyzed situations in a professional and productive manner.
• Performs scheduled maintenance on equipment for contracted customers according to Company policies and procedures.
• Opens and closes work orders with Dispatch, provides service repair narratives (written and verbal) for customer, and submits paperwork for time worked and repairs completed in a neat, accurate and timely manner.
• Accounts for 100% of paid time.
• Maintains part inventory and supplies in van.
• Maintains service van to ensure that it is clean, organized, and hazard-free inside and out.
• Performs factory-authorized modifications per specifications.
• Responsible for maintaining personal tools required for performing the job effectively and safely.
• Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

Qualifications and Skills:

• A minimum of a high school diploma/GED and/or one to three years of mechanical and electrical experience in a similar environment, or equivalent college or vocational education.
• Excellent people skills and verbal communication required.
• Knowledge of reading schematics and manuals.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and understand necessary service and training manuals.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or demonstrated instructions.
• Ability to maintain a good understanding of industry innovations and product availability to make recommendations based on customer needs.
• Ability to safely operate personal hand tools.

Physical Requirements:

• This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
