Field Technician – Environmental Services

Full-Time 40h/wk $45.76k to $56.16k/year Casual Attire

CEHMMis a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that offers a wide verity of environmentalservices to clients throughout southern New Mexico. Our environmental servicesdepartment specializes in natural resources assessment and environmentalpermitting at the federal and state levels. A successful candidate will gain aworking knowledge of the plants and wildlife of New Mexico and the ability toconduct field work in an arid climate.

The Field Technician – Environmental Services is a full-time hourly permanentposition located in Carlsbad, NM reporting to the Field Operations Supervisor –Environmental Services. The Field Technician – Environmental Services will accomplish a wide variety ofclient needs including but not limited to:

  • Assist with natural resource surveys(wildlife, plant, karst, hydrology, etc.)
  • Assist with environmental compliancemonitoring (trench monitoring, spill monitoring, etc.)
  • Collect environmental samples (water, soil,biological) and record basic data
  • Maintain accurate and complete field records
  • Support data organization and mapping underthe direction of senior staff
  • Set up, operate, and maintain instruments andequipment as directed
  • Perform preventative maintenance on tools,equipment, and vehicles under supervision
  • Assist with fabrication and troubleshooting ofequipment and systems
  • Transport equipment and supplies using trucksand trailers as necessary
  • Mix and apply chemicals according to labelinstructions under supervision
  • Collaborate with team members to supportproject efficiency
  • Adhere to correct procedures and health andsafety policies
  • Other duties as assigned

This is an entry level position; we are prepared to train theright candidates. The salary range for this position is $22/hr. to $27/hr.
