Actalent seeks an Engineering Technician for a hands-on, field-based role supporting drilling and subsurface investigation projects in Topeka, KS. You will work alongside drilling crews to assist with site operations, sample collection, and equipment maintenance.

The job emphasizes outdoor work, physical activity, and learning technical field processes, with travel to local and regional sites and occasional overnight assignments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in construction, drilling, field services, environmental work, mechanical maintenance, or general labor preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist drilling crews with field investigations and drilling activities.
• Support site setup, equipment mobilization, and sample collection.
• Load, transport, and maintain drilling tools and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on rigs, trucks, trailers, and support equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain clean, organized work areas.
• Assist with shop, yard, and equipment preparation between projects.
