Job summary

LAUKOA is seeking Field Technicians to support cultural resource management work in Texas along the U.S./Mexico border. This temporary, field-based role offers at least 40 hours a week and lasts about 3 weeks. Applicants must pass background checks and drug testing as part of pre-employment.

Per Diem is provided at federal rates. Responsibilities include recording resources, testing, excavation, and data recovery, with coordination across the LAUKOA team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or closely related field.
• 2+ years of relevant field experience or internships.
• Familiarity with NHPA, NEPA, ARPA, and NAGPRA regulations.
• Driver’s license and ability to operate a 4WD vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Record cultural resources and conduct testing, excavation, and data recovery.
• Complete daily activity logs and coordinate with LAUKOA team.
• Communicate findings and maintain field data and organization.
• Work in remote areas and rugged terrain, following safety protocols.
