Job summary

Hanley Energy is seeking a Field Technician to travel to customer sites and test and troubleshoot mechanical equipment in hyperscale data centers. You will document activities and work with teams and customers to meet objectives.

The role requires 1–2 years of mechanical systems experience, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read schematics and P&IDs. Travel is up to 25% and on-site work at customer facilities.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of industry experience with mechanical systems (heat exchangers, fans, pumps, controls)
• Technical degrees/certifications in STEM/MEP/SCADA
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Experience commissioning HVAC, cooling, or critical infrastructure systems
• Willingness to travel up to 25%
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Conduct field tests of mechanical equipment and installation
• Troubleshoot critical mechanical equipment
• Communicate with customers and outside stakeholders
