ONE Gas, Inc. in Mineral Wells, TX is seeking a field technician to perform construction and maintenance work on a transmission and distribution pipeline system.

You will load, unload, and operate tools and equipment, perform routine vehicle and equipment maintenance, and respond to customer orders and emergencies as needed. The role emphasizes safety, physical stamina, ability to read maps and job orders, and compliance with company procedures.

Formación

• Knowledge of use, function and maintenance of manual tools and equipment applicable to the position.
• Knowledge of basic arithmetic and measurements is required.
• Knowledge of construction and maintenance of transmission and/or distribution pipeline systems.
• Reading and interpreting maps, atlas pages, blueprints and job orders.
• Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.

Responsabilidades

• Perform pipeline construction, installation, maintenance and removal work on transmission and distribution pipelines.
• Load, unload, and operate tools and equipment including but not limited to pipe and crescent wrenches, pipe cutters, and other listed tools.
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment including fueling, lubricants, oil/filters, and tool cleaning.
• Investigate customer related orders and emergency situations such as low pressure calls, leaks, fires, and blowing lines.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required; may perform additional duties as assigned.

Performs construction and maintenance operating work related to a pipeline system.

Responsibilities

• Perform pipeline construction, installation, maintenance and removal work on transmission and distribution pipelines.


• Load, unload, and operate tools and equipment including but not limited to:

• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment including but not limited to:

Qualifications

Education Requirements

Experience

• Knowledge of use, function and maintenance of manual tools and equipment applicable to the position.


• Knowledge of application of basic arithmetic:
  
  
  
  • addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division (tested).
  
  
  
  


• Knowledge of construction and maintenance of transmission and/or distribution pipeline systems.


• Working knowledge and training relative to:
  
  
  
  • Working in excavations and/or confined spaces
  
  
  • Basic customer service activities
  
  
  • Company and governmental operating/safety procedures
  
  
  • Fusing plastic pipe
  
  
  • Characteristics of natural gas
  
  
  
  


• Knowledge in basic computer functions and relevant software.


• Knowledge of plastic fusion.


• Understanding of how to read and interpret maps, atlas pages, blueprints, and job orders.


• Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
  

Licenses and Certifications

Required applicable driver's license.

Required applicable Operator Qualifications.

Required CDL eligible.

Additional Requirements

• Lift or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds 10-15 times a day; up to 40 pounds 7-10 times a day; over 50 pounds 5-6 times a day.
