Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Field Technician for its Field Services organization to support the FAA. The role will primarily operate in Anchorage, AK or surrounding areas, performing installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications systems.

Responsibilities include configuring and testing equipment, troubleshooting software, and providing hands-on support. Travel up to 100% within a 4-hour drive and the ability to obtain FAA Public Trust clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma and 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
• Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and/or local US State REAL ID equivalent and a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, configuration, test and preventive maintenance of network equipment, telecommunications equipment and/or computers.
• Perform basic software troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Serve as the point of contact for unresolved problems from the Help Desk or NOC.

Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies is looking for a Field Technician for the Company’s Field Services organization supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This role will be responsible for support mainly in Anchorage, AK or surrounding area.

Essential Functions:

• This is a support level position requiring a thorough knowledge of theinstallation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications related systems and/or equipment, gained through formal education or fromconsiderable and varied experience in working with the installation,service activation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunication systemsand devices.
• Responsiblefor the installation, repair, configuration, test and preventativemaintenance of network equipment, telecommunications equipment and/or computers.
• Proficientin Microsoft or UNIX operating systems, and the components of the MSOffice Suite. Maintains records on repairs, down time, changes andupdates.
• Good working knowledge of cable connectors and replacement, such as RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, RS-449
• Havean excellent working knowledge of fiber, working knowledge of Multiplexes,Network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET Network Technology,ATM, Private Line, Voice and Data applications
• Goodworking knowledge of power testing, AD and DC including 3 Phase AC. Familiar with configuration and operation of the 24VDC & 48 VDC powersupplies.
• Experience with network and circuit testing with T1 Testing Specifications, DS3Testing, Digital Testing (BERT), and Analog VG Testing within Bell CoreStandards.
• Workingknowledge and usage of various network test equipment: JDSU HST,Ameritech AM5XT, Sage 935, Digital Oscilloscope, Halcyon 704A, Para-scopeor other T1/DS3 Test sets.
• Perform basic software troubleshooting and diagnostics,
• Serveas the point of contact for unresolved problems from the Help Desk or NOC.
• Install hardware and software including operating system and office applications.
• Responsible for providing computer hardware, software and network technical support to end-users.
• Assists with setup and configuration of system hardware and software.
• Capable of lifting 70 pounds
• Travel (up to 100% of the time) to remote sites within a 4-hour drive circle of base location. Technicians may be asked to travel outside of their assigned region, as needed.
• Utilize ladders, and step stools, to reach heights of approx. 10 feet
• Ability to work outside regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs and to respond to after-hours emergency calls as required.
• Ability to obtain a FAA Public Trust Clearance

Qualifications:
