Job summary

Cleaver‑Brooks Sales & Service is seeking a Field Technician specializing in boiler instrumentation and combustion controls in the Dallas area. You will support our rental fleet and customer systems both on the bench and in the field, wiring controls, testing panels, and commissioning equipment on site.

The role requires 3+ years of boiler controls experience, PLC knowledge, and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of boiler experience with PLCs, transformers, transmitters, and related control hardware.
• Fluency reading blueprints/schematics; able to follow written and verbal work instructions.
• Field retrofit experience and the ability to diagnose boilers and auxiliary equipment without prints.

Responsibilities

• Wire controls and motors for watertube and firetube packages plus auxiliary equipment.
• Rebuild control valves/regulators; select valve trims, regulator springs, and oil gun sizes and lengths.
• Fabricate, wire, and test control panels and fuel skids from engineering schematics/layouts.
• Build and function‑test condensate tanks and deaerators; complete boiler trim‑outs.
• Commission rental boilers at customer sites; tune for optimal combustion on pneumatic and electrical control architectures.
• Interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams; troubleshoot even without a schematic.
• Train colleagues and customers on system operation and controls best practices.
• Maintain tool/monitor inventories; support cross‑team projects; follow company policies; other duties as assigned.
