Job summary

Orchard Robotics is seeking a Field Operations Technician for California's North Coast to help growers implement our AI-powered farming technology. You will visit farms, drive ATVs to collect data, and support customers in deploying our camera systems.

The role is full-time and outdoors, with health benefits paid by the company. You’ll collaborate with sales and engineering to improve yield and reduce waste across farms.

Qualifications

• Prior agriculture or field work experience, and comfortable spending many hours outdoors.
• Comfortable driving 1–3 hours daily to customer farms and engaging directly with growers in‑person.
• Able to lift at least 20 lbs to set up our camera systems.
• Comfortable driving an ATV around farms for extended periods of time, and completing field tasks such as gathering ground truth data.
• Proactive, loves to problem-solve & tackle new challenges.
• Self‑starter capable of working independently & managing your own schedule.
• Background in agriculture is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license for frequent travel to customer farms.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and Slack.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours to align with growers’ schedules.

Responsibilities

• Visit customer farms to collect data with our AI-powered camera systems.
• Drive ATVs and scan trees, vines, and plants, often for hours.
• Conduct precise field scouting to collect ground truth data for our AI systems.
• Regularly drive 1–3 hours to customer farms for training and deployments.
• Provide hands‑on support, troubleshooting and training for our FruitScope systems.
• Conduct on‑farm demos for prospective customers.
• Engage with customers to relay insights and requests to success and engineering teams.
