Job Title

Traveling Field Technician – Telecommunications Team (NE, NW, SE Regions, United States)

Job Summary

Cyient has an immediate opening for a Traveling Field Technician in our Telecommunications Team across the NE Region, NW Region and SE Region of the United States. The position requires at least 70% of your time traveling throughout the US to meet the demands of the role.

Responsibilities

You will manage Outside Plant (OSP) Telecom field data collection for multiple Cyient customer accounts. You will engage business and personal property owners, as well as multi-family residences to identify yourself and your intent for being on their property. You will visit multiple job locations daily to record and analyze existing field conditions related to Telecom poles, aerial/underground structures, and street/right‑of‑way measurements for future/current cell sites. You will learn to determine ideal locations and situations for above‑ground equipment and fiber‑optic cables, and identify field issues that could improve network designs. You will collect and submit data using handheld electronic GIS equipment and other tools such as IKE, Fulcrum, LiDAR, and additional equipment. The role may involve walking one or more miles daily while collecting data.

Training and Equipment

We will provide training in the use of all electronic equipment required to complete the work and outside plant utility recognition/design.
