Job summary

Triumvirate Environmental is seeking a Field Technician for our San Leandro, CA team. The role involves performing hazardous waste handling tasks, confined space entries, soil remediation, and related field services; experience welcomed but training provided.

You will report to the Field Services Manager, with requirements including a High School Diploma, a valid driver's license, and ability to pass screenings. CDL/HAZWOPER is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Successful completion of OSHA/DOT medical exam including drug screening.
• Must pass criminal background check and DMV record screening.
• Willing to wear respirator and perform safety-sensitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform confined space entries, soil remediation, chemical decontamination, and waste handling.
• Collect samples and assist with cleanup and emergency response tasks.
• Complete required paperwork and maintain accurate records.
• Deliver hazardous and non-hazardous waste with strong customer service.
• Routinely perform vehicle pre- and post-trip inspections and assist other crew members.

Job description

Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking a Field Technicianfor our San Leandro, CA team.Experience is preferred but we will train the right people!

This position reports to the Field Services Manager.

Responsibilities

• Perform confined space entries, soil remediation, chemical decontamination, underground and aboveground storage tank cleaning and closure, sample collection, separator cleaning and emergency response services
• Show determination/eagerness to learn and retain a basic knowledge of daily work practices
• Develop an understanding of DOT, EPA, California RCRA & OSHA regulations and TEI's Health and Safety Practices
• Understand and execute all required paperwork
• Pickup and delivery of hazardous and non-hazardous waste and materials with a sharp focus on customer service
• Be able to wear a respirator for full shift
• Provide clients with high-quality and professional customer service
• Routinely perform vehicle pre- and post-trip inspections
• Assist Supervisor, Lead and other Equipment Operators as requested
• Rotating on-call responsibilities as part of our Emergency Response team

Basic Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Basic knowledge of, or interest in, hazardous waste field
• Self-motivated person with the desire to learn
• Successful completion of OSHA/ DOT physical examination which includes drug and alcohol screening
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable form of transportation
• Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC)
• Upon employment, you will be required to participate in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC) as part of our company’s commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
• This is a Safety Sensitive Position
• Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis
• The Field Technician frequently handles hazardous chemicals and biological waste and is responsible for putting on and taking off personal protective equipment. This role is considered safety-sensitive.

Preferred Requirements

• Prior relevant industry experience
• Active HAZWOPER 24- or 40-hour certification
• Willingness to obtain Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
