Base pay range

$25.00/hr - $28.00/hr

Akkodis is seeking Field Technician/Advanced IT & Deskside Support Engineer for a Contract to Hire position. This role involves a dynamic split between field support during branch go-lives and in-territory deskside support. Travel is required up to 50% of the time (generally 1-week on-site travel followed by 1 week working in your home region). All travel-related expenses including flights, lodging, and rental vehicles are covered by the company.

This position does not include support for networking components or servers, but focuses on client devices and end-user computing.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: 4 Months Contract to Hire

LOCATION DETAILS: New York

Pay Range: $25-28/hour (Salary may be negotiable based upon experience, education, geographic location, and other factors).

• All travel-related expenses covered (flights, hotels, meals, car rental)
• Mileage reimbursement when using personal vehicle for nearby assignments
• Travel time is billable

Responsibilities:

• Provide on-site deskside support for new branch openings, including setup and handover of laptops and mobile devices on day of go-live.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and standard office software.
• Ensure smooth transition and setup for end-users including imaging, configuration, and user profile setup.
• Maintain documentation of support tasks and user interactions.
• Collaborate with centralized IT teams for escalations and handoffs.
• Travel to client sites up to 50% of the month – airfare, hotels, meals, lodging, and rental cars provided.
• For locations within driving distance, use of personal vehicle may be required (mileage and travel time reimbursed; clean MVR/DMV record required).

Qualifications:

• IT support experience, preferably in a deskside or field support capacity.
• Strong understanding of Windows OS, Office 365, device imaging, Active Directory basics, and mobile device management.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly and independently.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience supporting remote branch rollouts or multi-location environments.
• Familiarity with remote desktop tools and endpoint management systems.
• IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications are a plus.
