Description:

We are seeking a Desktop Support Technician to provide technical support at a central office location in Madison, WI, as well as nearby facilities in the greater Dane County area. This role involves maintaining and repairing a large inventory of desktops, laptops, and other PC devices. Responsibilities include installing new equipment to replace end-of-life hardware, managing inventory, and ensuring proper recycling and disposal of outdated technology in accordance with organizational policies.

The technician will also be responsible for managing and closing work orders in the internal ticketing system. Oversight and guidance will be provided by the Field Tech Manager to ensure adherence to established procedures and standards.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for up to 8 hours (not necessarily daily).
• Strong desktop troubleshooting skills and excellent customer service are essential.
• Experience with AV integration is a plus.
  
  

Work Location & Travel:

The primary work location is at a central office in Madison, WI. The technician will occasionally travel to nearby facilities to assist with projects and support tickets. Travel includes mileage reimbursement at $0.51 per mile and paid travel time, or the option to use a vehicle (with a valid driving record). Travel reimbursement does not apply when working at the central office.

Schedule Options:

• Four 10-hour days with Fridays off
• Five 8-hour days
• Nine 9-hour days over two weeks with one Friday off
  
  

This is a long-term, ongoing contract position with a well-established team. Some technicians have remained in this role for over a decade.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
