This role focuses on field service and maintenance of a full line of equipment, attachments, and components supported by Volvo Construction Equipment (VCES).
Base pay range: $34.00/hr - $44.00/hr. The final offer depends on location, knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. This role is eligible for bonus where applicable. Responsibilities
- The field technician performs high-quality service and maintenance on the full line of equipment, attachments, and components supported by VCES.
- Champion a “Safety First”, “Customer Focused”, and “Continuous Improvement” culture.
- Enforce and adhere to all company policies, procedures, standards, and values.
- Maintain excellent customer and employee relations.
- Work safely at all times, adhering to all VCES safety guidelines, policies, and practices.
- Demonstrate safe and proper application of hand, pneumatic, and electric tools.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and provide quality repairs on the full line of products and components represented by VCES.
- Demonstrate proper use of all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Work primarily in the field environment, with occasional shop repairs as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of equipment systems, including hydraulic, air, electrical, and lubrication.
- Work on and around heavy construction equipment, including climbing and accessing hard-to-reach areas.
- Lift up to 50 pounds and possess a set of tools sufficient to perform the job, maintaining and securing them properly.
- Maintain follow-through on all job facets, including parts ordering, customer follow-up, and work order status.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Maintain professionalism in customer interactions and correspondence.
- Be willing to accept responsibility, adapt to assignments, and work overtime when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education and Professional Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working on construction-related equipment.
- Technical school certificate or equivalent experience in mechanical repairs.
- Prior experience in the construction industry preferred.
- Background with hydraulics and diesel engines preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Requires prolonged periods of sitting and standing, with frequent bending, crouching, and overhead reaching; occasional stair/climb requiring safety precautions.
- Occasional lifting over 50 lbs; frequently lifting up to 30 lbs.
- May work around loud, noisy, and dusty environments; manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
