Job summary

Certerra RMA Group is seeking a Field Technician to support construction materials testing on industrial, commercial, and transportation projects in Hollywood, FL. The role involves performing field inspections, sampling, and reporting under ASTM standards, with an emphasis on safety and accuracy.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of construction site experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work outside regular hours including Saturdays.

Field Technician – Special Inspections & Materials Testing

Your Impact

• Perform testing on general industrial, residential and commercial construction sites and facilities
• Interpret project plans and specifications for compliance with projects requirements
• Perform soil density testing using density gauges in accordance with ASTM and project specifications on site at
• Perform sampling and testing of concrete in accordance with ASTM and project specifications
• Prepare and submit digitally written field reports summarizing daily activities/observations, calculations and results
• Observe proof rolls, undercut operations, perform footing inspections, and inspect rebar
• Test and work in accordance with Company safety policies
• Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications
• Interact with client representative (supervisors, foremen, project managers, engineers, etc.) at project sites
• Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of testing data

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year experience in a construction/project site role
• Reliability – must be able to arrive at designated project sites prior to scheduled times
• Ability to prepare reports and documentation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required, including at least every other Saturday.
• Must pass physical, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year+ Construction Materials Testing experience either on commercial projects or on transportation construction projects
• ACI Field Level I certification (concrete sampling and field testing)
• Ability to evaluate soil subgrade prior to placement of fill and perform standard soil Proctor
• Ability to read and understand site grading drawings

Physical Demands

• Physical examination required to obtain medical clearance to work
• Ability to stoop, kneel and to routinely lift and carry 50 pounds
• Clean driving record and capable of being insured for driving company vehicles
• Able to work in variable outside conditions, including extreme heat, 8-12 hours.
