Job description

GeoSonics, Inc, a nationally recognized seismic consulting company, is seeking a full-time Field Technician for our Cheshire, Connecticut location.

As a Field Technician, you will travel to construction sites and aggregate operations throughout New England and New York to conduct pre/post blast inspections, perform on-site vibration monitoring, and manage installation of service equipment. You will support the Area Manager and provide service and support to customers.

Our ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills, can follow instructions, work independently, and has experience with video and digital cameras, along with proficiency in computer and technical skills. Experience or a degree in Geology, Earth Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required. A driver’s license and reliable transportation are necessary as travel in your personal vehicle to job sites is required.

• Conduct detailed pre- and post-blast inspections of homes, commercial buildings, and other structures.
• Perform on-site and remote seismograph vibration monitoring at mining and construction sites.
• Manage on-site installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Prepare reports based on inspections and monitoring activities.
• Provide service and customer support during field visits.
• Collaborate with the technical team and share information across the organization.
• Build positive relationships with current and potential customers.
