Description

The Field Technician is the face of Surf Broadband Solutions, serving as the front-line representative and a key member of our service-oriented team. Responsibilities include completing installs, uninstalls, surveys, and service calls at customer locations while regularly climbing ladders and working on rooftops.

Responsibilities

• Complete installations and repairs inside or outside customer homes or businesses, including wireless and fiber services.
• Climb ladders and work on rooftops during installations and repairs.
• Occasionally climb towers up to 100ft for installations and repairs.
• Troubleshoot internet and service issues.
• Prepare daily work assignments by requisitioning equipment and stocking vehicles.
• Maintain company vehicle and equipment per safety guidelines.
• Drive safely between sites, adhering to laws and policies.
• Communicate with supervisors and monitor software for updates and assistance.
• Interact professionally with customers, educate on product features, and promote services.
• Complete testing and setup of installed services and equipment.
• Clean work area after job completion.
• Participate in team meetings and on-call rotations.
• Report work progress and updates accurately.
• Maintain punctuality and adhere to safety and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; higher education a plus.
• Minimum 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with a good record.
• Excellent customer service, time management, and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of PC and Google Docs.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Good communication skills.
• Basic electronics and connectivity knowledge.
• Able to work required shifts and overtime.
