Overview

We are seeking a Field Technician Lead with strong hands‑on experience in Audio Visual systems, low voltage cabling, and customer support. This individual will lead field installations, guide junior technicians, and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to a high standard.

The ideal candidate is both technically skilled and customer‑focused, capable of troubleshooting complex systems while maintaining professional communication with clients.

Key Responsibilities
Field Installation & Technical Work
  • Install, configure, and support Audio Visual systems including displays, projectors, conferencing equipment, speakers, and control systems

  • Perform low voltage cabling installation including Cat6, fiber, coax, speaker wire, and control wiring

  • Terminate, test, and certify network and AV cabling

  • Mount displays, install equipment racks, and integrate AV hardware

  • Troubleshoot AV, networking, and signal flow issues in the field

Team Leadership
  • Lead and coordinate field technicians on installation projects

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians

  • Ensure projects follow installation standards, safety requirements, and quality expectations

  • Coordinate daily field work, materials, and project timelines

Customer Support
  • Serve as the primary on‑site contact for clients

  • Clearly communicate installation progress and technical issues

  • Provide post‑installation walkthroughs and basic system training for customers

  • Deliver professional service that creates a strong customer experience

Project Coordination
  • Work with project managers and operations teams to ensure smooth installations

  • Review project plans, diagrams, and scopes before installation

  • Identify potential issues early and escape when necessary

  • Document installations, updates, and service work

Required Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in field technician roles

  • Hands‑on experience with Audio Visual systems installation

  • Experience installing low voltage cabling (Cat5/6, fiber, coax, speaker wire)

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across AV and basic networking systems

  • Experience leading or mentoring technicians on job sites

  • Ability to read project drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation plans

Technical Skills
  • AV display installation and calibration

  • Conference room systems and video conferencing equipment

  • Equipment rack building and cable management

  • Network cable termination and testing

  • Signal flow troubleshooting

  • Basic networking knowledge

Preferred Qualifications
  • AVIXA / CTS certification
