City of Tigard is seeking a dedicated wastewater/stormwater technician to support our growing community. The role involves field work, cleaning and inspecting sewer and storm pipes, and assisting residents with questions about sanitary connections.

Ideal candidates hold a High school diploma or equivalent and a valid Class A CDL, with a physical capacities test required. The position offers stable full-time hours in a dynamic municipal environment.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to the completion of the 12th grade and two years of related work experience.
• Class A CDL required within six months of hire.
• The successful candidate will pass a physical capacities test.

Responsibilities

• Install catch basins, manholes, and mainlines; perform creek restoration and stormwater work.
• Repair and maintain access in wastewater and storm locations.
• Assist citizens with questions about the sanitary system and private connections.
• Operate Vactor trucks to clean sanitary and stormwater systems.
• Video inspect both wastewater and stormwater systems with the inspection unit.
• Participate in erosion restoration in forested drainage areas.
• Provide help to other divisions during weather events and emergencies to ensure service.
