Job summary

Cook & Boardman, LLC seeks a Field Technician to install and service wireless access points, CCTV cameras, NVRs, and structured cabling in new and retrofit projects across diverse settings.

Responsibilities include installing copper/fiber cabling, network switches, and IP devices; testing and labeling cables; following best practices and collaborating with Project Manager and Lead Technician to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• NM ES-3J Low Voltage Journeyman's license preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Current and continued certification in at least one VMS system.
• Current and continued certification in at least one structured cabling system.
• At least one year’s experience as an Installer or equivalent position.

Responsibilities

• Install structured cabling systems (copper, fiber, low-voltage).
• Install network switches, wireless access points and other IP devices.
• Install CCTV; analog and IP cameras.
• Install NVRs and VMS platforms.
• Install cable pathway systems.
• Terminate, test, label and document cables.
• Learn installation best practices from Lead technicians.
• Work with project manager and team in a field environment.
• Keep track of daily tasks and hours worked.
• Assist with clean-up and learn new skills.
