Who’s driving the success of one of the fastest growing retailers in the nation? Our National Real Estate Services team. We have an aggressive plan to become the third-largest U.S. grocery retailer, and this team supports procurement and development of store locations, focusing on details like store layouts and fixtures. In this role, the Field Systems Engineer will support field investigations, commissioning, and training stakeholders on refrigeration, HVAC, and control systems within our stores. The ideal candidate will collaborate with ALDI Facilities and Construction teams, equipment manufacturers, and other stakeholders to implement strategic initiatives and resolve complex mechanical issues. Experience with refrigeration, HVAC, and building management & control systems (BMCS) is essential. The role also involves educating and training others on these systems, with a background in HVACR, Mechanical Engineering, Commissioning, or Electrical/Computer Engineering. The goal is to support and educate stakeholders on technology deployed in our locations to enhance energy efficiency, system uptime, and sustainability.

Position Type: Full-Time

Starting Salary: $127,500

Salary Increases: Year 2 - $135,000 | Year 3 - $142,500

Work Location: Dublin, OH (Remote position with domestic travel to store locations across the US)

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure training, development, and performance of team staff to maintain a motivated, professional workforce.
  • Recruit and recommend qualified employees for team positions.
  • Establish, communicate, and evaluate job responsibilities and performance expectations.
  • Align team activities with company strategy and core values.
  • Make recommendations on building operations and controls for stores and facilities.
  • Support sustainability initiatives through technology and mechanical system advancements.
  • Advise design professionals to keep drawings accurate and current.
  • Coordinate with equipment manufacturers, vendors, and government officials on projects and site-specific concerns.
  • Facilitate communication between various teams and stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategies for the team, source external vendors, and manage workload.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and technological changes.
  • Attend site visits for equipment installation, commissioning, and maintenance, providing detailed reports.
  • Support troubleshooting, training, documentation, and optimization of BMCS.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
  • Manage scope of work for mechanical systems and oversee project implementation of BMCS and EMS.
  • Ensure security and confidentiality of data and documents.
  • Report on KPIs, asset performance, and cost control initiatives.
  • Support global committees and projects, drive prototype specifications, and manage team projects.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy and security policies.

Physical Requirements
  • Work may involve office, remote, or construction environments.
  • Regularly sit, reach, grasp, stand, and move; occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
Travel
  • Domestic travel up to 70% required.
