Your resume and cover letter, tailored to exactly what they’re hiring for.
Rocsys in the San Francisco area is seeking a Field Systems Engineer to deploy and commission complex automated charging systems for electric vehicle fleets at customer sites worldwide.
You will integrate mechanical, electrical, and software elements, diagnose on-site issues, train customer teams, and travel to client sites frequently to ensure sustained system performance. The role blends hands-on field work with collaboration with our R&D and software teams.
Are you looking to work at the intersection of mechanical, electrical, software, and robotics engineering, and do you like making complex systems operational and reliable in the field?
This is the opportunity for multi-disciplinary engineers to become an important link between development and execution: you make sure our technology and platforms are integrated end-to-end, assuring that there is a system that excels in the real-life critical operations at our global customers!
You make the difference
As a Field Systems Engineer, you will contribute to the successful deployment, commissioning, and long-term reliability of our current and next-generation automatic coupling systems for charging electric vehicles at customer sites worldwide.
This role sits at the intersection of mechanical systems, electrical controls, robotics programming, connectivity, and on-site process flows. You'll be the one connecting all of those pieces, ensuring the end-to-end system performs at a high level. You are the definitive, hands-on expert responsible for ensuring our system components function as designed and interact with the customer’s or third-party components according to the customer’s needs.
You will be based near the site of one of our strategic customers and collaborating with them to make the system work. At the same time, you’ll work together with our development engineers specializing in software, hardware, robotics, and integration.
You will leverage your broad knowledge to rapidly diagnose and address issues that arise on-site, serving as the technical liaison for the client and the ultimate troubleshooter for our company.
Your contribution
You have a bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, mechatronics, robotics, or a related multidisciplinary field.
A strong multi-disciplinary background covering the core disciplines of robotics and automation.
Mechanical/Kinematics: Foundational knowledge of mechanical design, component alignment, and robot motion/kinematic chains.
Electrical/Controls: Proficiency in reading schematics, understanding industrial control panels, and working with sensors and actuators.
Software/Programming: Working knowledge of robot programming and proficiency in a programming language, like python.
You have a minimum of 5 years’ experience with systems engineering, mechatronics, robotics, or a related multidisciplinary field.
A highly independent self-starter who thrives in dynamic, unpredictable field environments.
A team player with excellent communication skills, capable of liaising effectively between specialized internal teams and non-technical customer stakeholders.
Capable of working remotely, away from your peers
A keen eye for pragmatic, reliable, and swift on-site solutions.
Eager to travel and bring your enthusiasm and problem-solving mindset to every deployment.
