Job summary

Elmington Construction seeks a Field Surveyor to support multifamily construction projects by providing site layout, establishing survey control, and verifying subcontractor installations against plans and tolerances.

You will use total stations, GPS/GNSS, and CAD/CATIA tools to verify elevations, alignments, and as-built conditions while coordinating with superintendents, project managers, engineers, and subcontractors on active sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction surveying, site layout, or related field
• Experience reviewing & operating digital plans or CAD designs
• Proficient in reading & interpreting civil, structural, and architectural drawings

Responsibilities

• Establish project control points and benchmarks; verify elevations and layouts
• Read and interpret civil drawings, grading plans, and construction documents
• Proactively review civil drawings to identify conflicts before construction
• Utilize CAD files and digital models to support layout and identify field conflicts
• Overlay civil drawings with CAD data to identify grading/location conflicts
• Maintain project survey control and align survey teams on benchmarks
• Perform field layout such as slabs, curbs, sidewalks with survey subcontractor
• Spot-check grades, elevations, setbacks; communicate conflicts to team
• Operate surveying equipment including total stations and GPS/GNSS systems
