Job summary

NV5 is seeking an entry-level Survey Field Technician (Instrument Operator) for our Cary, NC office. This position supports the Party Chief and Survey Coordinator to complete assignments on time.

Responsibilities include operating survey equipment, recording data, maintaining gear, and assisting with field calculations. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma/ GED, 0–2 years of surveying experience, and a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years of land surveying experience preferred.
• Must be able to obtain a valid driver’s license prior to employment.
• Ability to travel for work.

Responsibilities

• Operate the survey total station and level instruments.
• Record survey data in field books.
• Maintain all survey equipment.
• Assist party chief with survey files and field calculations.
