Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Survey Technician/Instrument Operator for construction staking in Houston. You will support field crews using robotic total stations, GNSS, and related equipment to collect accurate spatial data and set construction layouts.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required.
Valid, current driver’s license and ability to meet company MVR standards required.
One year industry experience preferred.
Minimum knowledge of land surveying practices and basic survey computations.
Able to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.
Willing to travel/out of town for work as needed.

Responsibilities

Use land survey instruments to support field crew for boundary, topographic, and construction layout surveys.
Assist in completion of field surveys under supervision; communicate progress and problems.
Operate robotic total stations, GNSS receivers, data radios/modems, and laser scanners.
Use survey controllers and software to collect geospatial data and perform computations.
Read and interpret maps and plans.
Record neat field notes with accurate measurements under supervision.
Load/unload trucks with equipment and supplies.
Maintain equipment and vehicles; follow safety procedures.
