Job summary

State of South Carolina is seeking a Survey Technician to proficiently operate level rods, prism poles, and collect topography for elevations and line-of-sight surveys in outdoor environments.

Under supervision of a SC registered land surveyor, you will assist with property lines, courthouse and field research, maintain notes, and support in plotting property information. A high school diploma and a valid driver’s license are required; occasional outdoor work and varying hours may apply.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma and one year of related experience or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Familiarity with field notes and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Establish elevations of bench marks and ground controls.
• Assist with locating property lines and plotting property information.
• Maintain field notes and reduce level notes for elevation accuracy.
• Operate and assist with survey equipment and safety procedures.
